TRAVEL IN STYLE / The travel outfit #2: the perfect outfit for Nepal

What do I take with me on a city trip? What do I wear in Iceland? What do I pack for Asia? How do I efficiently pack my backpack or suitcase? What are handy gadgets? Fine clothing? Beautiful cases? Functional bags? What don’t I ever forget in my hand luggage? What are my ideal travel outfits?
A few weeks ago I introduced my renewed Travel in Style section. Time for a new article: my ideal travel outfit. I just got back from Nepal, which was incredibly beautiful. Being a backpacker I packed just a few garments. That had two reasons:
1) I only have a small backpack and I simply can’t take my whole closet. In addition: the lighter, the better.
and 2) I‘m in love with my Free People dress and I had already pretty much expected wearing this dress every single day (that does befit a purebred ‘dirty backpacker’).
I was so right.

My ideal travel outfit

This is definitely my ideal travel outfit in a country like Nepal. I always respect the culture, norms and values of a countryand in Nepal shorts, bare shoulders and tight clothes are being seen as offensiveEven though it is pretty hot, I just packed longer items. I must say I am always pretty annoyed by all the tourists who are hopping around temples in nothing but shorts and tanktops.
The dress is long, breezy and light (linen) and is so comfortable wearing all day and night. This dress is so Laura, as I am fond of this kind of half-hippy dresses. I swear by Birkenstocks since I’ve climbed the Table Mountain wearing them, and a good pair of sunglasses is a must in a sunny country. A hair band comes in handy too. I don’t need anything else, by wearing this outfit I can travel around the whole wide world.

Good choice!
