The instagram-followers may have noticed: I bought a pot of paint one day, moved everything aside and decided to paint the wall behind the bank turquoise. I needed color around. The first attempt failed (it almost gave light, as if the wall had been colored by toddler with a neon marker…) but after impulsively adding a remnant grey paint with the turquoise paint and move the couch aside again, I did it. A turquoise wall. I gave another crate some color as well to have balance and together with the turquoise accessories that are already here, I am overjoyed.
It starts to seem more and more like a hostel here, the atmosphere is just right and I love it…As long as my dream of starting a hostel did not yet come true, I just turn our home in a hostel. I am happy, I get the travel jitters and when I look around I am far, far away with my travel memories again. With lots of wood, leather, plants and souvenirs our living room is finally almost finished. Do you fancy a travel atmosphere at home as well?
I find them beautiful, but choosing is my weakness. I think we go for the left one. I find it difficult to buy anything new lately – because we have proudly collected vintage items in our home. But the worn look makes it all good … The rattan chairs are new vintage items as well. I have painted the paintings above the couch myself (but they will be replaced by something else in the future) and the crates closet is full of travel memories and travel books. The bookshelves are almost coming of the wall because of our favorite literature, there are real trunks in our home and even the antlers are found on a market. Aap and Noot (the cats) have a private sleeping suitcase, all lamps are creations of my creative boyfriend and finally the cables from the TV are eliminated. The Bonsai tree is still alive and my dear parents-in-law overwhelm us with plants lately: makes me happy. Nature. We still have lots and lots to do in our house, but the living room is almost done. Well, come take a look around.
