Last Wednesday we enjoyed lunch at Arneym. This time not for a romantic lunch, but for le blog. This restaurant in the centre of Arnhem is absolutely worth a mention. This is actually ‘our’ restaurant. We had our first date here and with a smile on my face I think back of that moment where I fell in love.
First the interior of Arneym: I like. Different vintage chairs, home-made retro pillows and an overall creative vintage style. I enjoy the setting time and time again for inspiration. Despite that the restaurant looks small and is always crowded, you have a sense of privacy and homely cosiness.
The concept is enjoying. Enjoy together and share small snacks and drinks, that’s the idea. During lunch you can choose from all kinds of original mini sandwiches, small salads and soups. You use a ticket and a pencil and just put a cross behind everything you would like to have at that moment. The dishes are not expensive at all and you can try everything because they come in small portions.
This time we received a delicious plateau (robust olive wood, beautiful!) full of all kinds of cold and warm mini sandwiches, two soups and a sweet bite after. With a chardonnay at the side we enjoyed our afternoon. In the evening you can choose from a variety of small snacks and bites as well. A kind of tapas idea – actually I should not say that: the enthusiastic and well-traveled owners took inspiration not only from Spain, but from all over the world. The restaurant is a place where creativity and passion meets.
