I still owed you this awesome hotspot in Nijmegen. I ate at restaurant de Firma in Nijmegen and was happily surprised by the evening, the food and the place. I would highly recommend going here! Of course I could have expected a magical evening at the Firma, because the owner is also responsible for the delicious food and great ambiance at the Meesterproef. Although the building seems a little less impressive than the Meesterproef’s building, the quote ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’ has proven to be true again. De Firma’s building and interior consist of all sorts of corners, bars, different floors and an open kitchen. Inside it’s warm and cosy and really dark, so you can find a really comfy atmosphere when entering the doors. The odors float through the air and I am immediately hungry.

At de Firma it’s all about sharing food. It’s a tapas restaurant covered in modern jacket and on the menu are many small dishes you can share with  your company. All of the ingredients are promised to be fresh and the company tries to use seasonal food only. The dishes are home made and inspired by the best street food from all over the world. And you can taste it. Truly, every dish is delicious. The wine too. The waiter is enthusiastic and recommends the best dishes De Firma offers. I take a walk through the building and look at all the new discoveries that are to be made in the little corners. The interior is similar to the interior of the Meesterproef: rough, industrial and vintage. Exactly what I love the most.

We’re in a cosy room inside and outside it’s winter. But spring is calling and I’d be happy to pay De Firma another visit. They are known to have the best terrace of all Nijmegen and well, if I did need an excuse to vist again this would be the perfect one. To eat. To drink wine. You can find de Firma at de Lage Markt 47 in Nijmegen and the restaurant is daily opened from 17:00 – 24:00 hours.
