HOTSPOT / Ghent: Eat Love Tastings

23

Everyone knows I love good food. During our weekend Gent we are invited to spend our evening in restaurant ‘Eat Love Tastings’. The name already let me drift away: food, love and small bites. You could wake me up at night for those things. After reading the name my head was already in Italy and on Bali – how could that be? It’s all in the name, ladies and gentlemen.

We walk along beautiful castles, cathedrals and churches (Ghent is love and love is Ghent) we see the restaurant. Upon entering, I wonder: are we back home?! Eames chairs. A brown Chesterfield. Old wood. Turquoise. Amazing crockery. And always a glass of wine at hand. Apart from the big disco ball (dare, but I like!) it feels like home. You will understand why.

Eat Love Tastings is part of Eat Love: the property houses two different restaurants, the other one is Eat Love Pizza: a stylish pizzeria. Eat Love it is the place to be for lovers of good food, healthy food and fair food. Owner Valentina, with a background in journalism and fashion, owns the restaurant business like it is her destiny and she definitely did put a State-of-the-art work down here. She believes in and and and, not or – and she likes to show that it is possible to mix fair, refined, fashion, food and fun. Fantastic chef Nicolas owns the kitchen and creates the most refined and culinary bites.

I love to eat and especially I love small bites. Try everything you would like to try. All ingredients Eat Love Tastings uses are pure and fresh and the bites are very original. For example, what do you think the dish on the second picture is? We choose the surprise chef’s menu and take a random dance with the menu: three times bar bites, three times main dishes and a dessert. From a brilliant carpaccio to wild salsify and from a delicious Sirloin steak to burrata: hell yeah. It is very warm in the restaurant (small minus point) but accompanied by the finest man on earth, a tasteful wine and soft Belgian background conversations I have a wonderful evening. Amazing hotspot in Ghent.

Wat een prachtgebouw! En die discobal <3 (dan voel ik me weer even 14 en helemaal fan van lichtjes op het plafond/de muur, hihi)

Klinkt als een fijne tip – ik ga 'm onthouden voor een volgende keer Gent :)
