Our beautiful city (Arnhem) is getting more fun each day. Interesting start-ups, lovely shops and fantastic restaurant. Time has come to do some hotspot-hunting again, and I will start with Dot Hair.

Dot Hair opened up this year in a beautiful building in Arnhem. First of all, the interior is to die for. Mint colors, vintage furniture, fresh flowers and beautiful light. Owner Jolanda Lagerweij is hair-and make-up artist and works with an enthusiasm that touches you. After she worked with passion for reputable salons in the region for years, and in addition worked three years as a freelancer, it’s time for a new chapter of her story: Dot Hair. A place where Jolanda can live and work for her own vision. As I have seen this process, I am all the more proud that she has put down a place so beautiful. I have definitely found my regular spot to do my hair, have some tea and be inspired. She changed my red hair to beautiful blonde again, in a few steps (including ombre and strawberry blonde hair). I am so someone who wants to do that in one time, which kills my hair, Jolanda is someone who is not going to do that because she cares about beautiful hair. And that is the thing I have most respect for. She works with Kevin Murphy, I.C.O.N. and EcoTech products: all ecological and organic products. I took a bottle of Indian Oil of I.C.O.N. and that has been my favorite product since.

The enthusiasm of Jolanda shows that her heart and soul are in Dot Hair. It is absolutely no standard barber shop, it’s more than that. She takes inspiration from everything that is in motion. She doesn’t have the boring hair magazines at the salon but she prefers design magazines to take her inspiration from. She describes herself as artist. Her mission is to combine fashion, beautiful hair and make-up. It’s a place where you can (re discover the best version of yourself. Where only environmentally responsible products are used. Where there is all attention and time for you and just you. With constant movement and inspiration, Dot Hair is a place for customers and entrepreneurs. She thinks along with new concepts and is working on collaborations with creative entrepreneurs from the region. It is not only a place where beautiful hair and makeup comes together, but also a creative place for exhibitions, photo shoots, lectures, workshops and inspiring network meetings while enjoying a good cup of coffee or tea. She regularly places nice updates on Facebook, such as photo shoots. Great for following. And in a few weeks there is a Dot Hair labrador puppy on location: Pluk Can’t wait.
