HOME / Hometour #1 – The living room

74

Time for a HOME section and a proper house tour! I always get a lot of nice comments about our house. We are so so so very happy with it. When we moved here, one and a half year ago, it was one big mess. We have literally fixed up everything, and now this is our home. The city centre and the Sonsbeek park are both within a minute walk, it is quiet here, we have two floors (140 m2) and a large roof terrace. It’s good to have a home, especially with all the traveling. The last time I did a hometour has been a long time ago and things change constantly here, time for a new housetour. I will start showing the living room. Our home is us and we are our home, it breathes travel. That’s why this section about my bohemian lifestyle fits with What About Her, according to me. I’m fond of natural elements. Lots of wood, leather, green plants and a lot of memories and souvenirs of our voyage of discovery through the world. I have a soft spot for turquoise and earthy colours.

World maps on the wall. A giant plant. A Chesterfield. Wooden furniture and fruit boxes. Books, travel books, literature. Antlers. A dreamcatcher. A vintage grandma chair. Lots of windows, lots of light. Green views. A wool blanket. A reindeer fur. An old mailbag. Lots of leather, wood, candles, Buddha ‘s, souvenirs and turquoise details. A colorful rug. An industrial lamp. World globes. Lots of vintage. Rattan tub chairs. Moroccan poufs. Aap en Noot. And especially a lot of warmth. That is our living room.

If this room is done? Actually here, it’s never finished. I did find, at last, a rug. But secretly (don’t tell anyone) I would like to get another couch. I love the Chesterfield so much, but it’s not a very comfortable couch and with that back of mine, this is not convenient. But I can’t find anything else that I like. The search for a sofa or chair will probably take months. Most things in our home are vintage, scattered with some design and other treasures found. I can spend hours online, on markets, in second hand shops and shopping streets. Interior is a small passion of mine.
