The bohemian face behind What About Her is Laura Coolen, 26 years youngA traveller by heart. Philosophical, romantic, versatiletravel and life lover, enthusiasticspontaneously with a capital S and adventurous: when not abroad I’ll find adventure on the street corner. I love discovering new places, my backpack, culture, good food, bottles of wine and celebrating life.

With my bachelor of business management I lived and worked as hotel manager around the world for ages, but I have chosen to follow my dreams. As of today, my travel and lifestyle blog What About Her is one of the biggest travel blogs in the Netherlands and I travel about 50% of the year. I keep myself busy with traveling, writing, spottingphotographing, testing, inspiring, communicating, running campaigns and together with my partner (who is a professional filmmaker) I create destination videos.

Whatabouther3Writing means having time for thoughts and experiences. Time for telling stories. After traveling and writing my thoughts are empty and my heart is overwhelmed.”

Instead of having a proverbial backpack full of life experiences, I own a whole suitcase. I‘m overambitious and I want to go there where I can use my creativity and intelligence. I want to gain energy from what I am doing. I’m extremely demanding to myself. I think that is the reason that I am good at the things I’ve done so far. At some exceptions, because they were not close to my heart. And I think that heart is most important.

I travel to special places, scribble words on my heart and from there I am working on travel stories that inspire. In addition, I am a photographer and use images to capture your imagination. I am a storyteller. And a story maker. I am grateful to our fascinating Earth and I’d like to share all that she has to offer. I share experiences, beautiful places and beautiful things and in addition, I share personal stories. I tell stories about the world with emotion – and that is my niche. I simply want to inspire to do the same: discover. In any way. Catch your own dreams. The world is made for dreamers.

What about her

“Why do you go away? So that you can come back. So that you can see the place you came from with new eyes and extra colors. And the people there see you differently, too. Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving.”
