Málaga is one my favorite cities in Spain. My boyfriend’s brother lives a few months a year in the city and we love to pay him a vist at times. This time it was quite a spontaneous unplanned trip. I still had a voucher from GeniusTravel to use, you remember that nufty website I told you about the other day? Missed it? With GeniusTravel you can find a travel destination based on budget, not on destination. This way you don’t see how to travel with a small budget, but where you could go with a certain budget. GeniusTravel also offers flights, hotelrooms and show you the prices to rent a car. I entered the budget I had left and as if it was meant to be: there was Málaga on top of the list. We had been there exactly one year ago and decided it was time to turn. And boy, what a lovely time we had there. This second felt like coming home again.
The last time we were troubled with the weather, but this time the sun shines like no other and we are very happy when we arrive. Without a jacket and with sunglasses. We stroll our luggage towards the Suite Novotel Málaga, our hotel during these days. What a comfortable place. The room is very light and airy, something I appreciate greatly. And those bed. I mean, hotelbeds. I can’t get enough of them. Every time I’ve been on a trip and have slept in such a wonderful bed I am reminded that I really need to fine a better bed at home. The hotel is directly located to the city centre and the market and we have breakfast with Spanish snacks. Every night coming back to the hotel feels a bit like coming home. Lovely place.
Time to dream. Time to think. Time to feel the warmth of the sun on my skin. In january. I am starting to understand why my brother-in-law likes to spend his winter in the warmth of the Spanish sun. I should consider it too. Of course I wrote about Málaga before. This time we enjoy the sun, the delicious food and each other. No worries, no rushing, no responsibilities. No words. Just wandering through the city. Last year we shot a travel movie , have you seen it already? I could write pages and pages about the beauty and atmosphere again, but this time I won’t. The images will do the work this time. I’d just like to mention that Málaga is a wonderful destination and that you should visit it one day too. Really, go pay it a vist. The sun warms you while the snow is still somewhere on the high mountains. The palm trees say hello and also the waves whisper that the sea is waiting for you. The boulevard is tropic jungle, the sangria is waiting (cold!) for you and I’m definitely sure you wouldn’t be able to resist the super delicious Spanish tapas.
Have you been to Málaga before?
